Finance Manager

We’re on the hunt for an experienced and forward-thinking Finance Manager to join our expanding Tauranga head office and take the next step toward a CFO leadership role.

A BIT ABOUT THE ROLE

Reporting directly to the CEO, this hands-on role will initially focus on getting into the operational and financial detail—overseeing daily finance functions, leading the finance team, and managing the group’s reporting, systems, and compliance.

As you settle into the role, your focus will expand to driving strategic financial performance, business transformation, and long-term growth. You will play a key part in shaping financial strategy, optimising capital structure, and influencing executive decision-making.

This is a rare opportunity for a commercially astute finance leader who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to grow into a CFO role within a supportive and forward-thinking organisation.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Leading day-to-day financial operations and managing the finance team.
  • Overseeing group-level financial reporting, forecasting and compliance.
  • Driving long-term financial strategy aligned with corporate goals.
  • Managing liquidity, investments, and funding strategies.
  • Leading implementation and optimisation of ERP/BI systems (MYOB Advanced, Cin7, Xero).
  • Producing insightful board packs, dashboards, and KPI reporting for decision-making.
  • Implementing governance, internal controls, and audit frameworks.
  • Supporting capital structure planning, risk management, and future CFO succession.

A BIT ABOUT YOU

You are an analytical, commercially minded finance professional with the confidence to operate at both strategic and operational levels. You’re hands-on, detail-focused, and passionate about developing your team while contributing to broader business leadership.

You communicate financial concepts clearly to non-financial audiences and maintain composure under pressure. You’re driven to improve systems, processes, and performance — always thinking a step ahead.

You will bring:

  • CAANZ (or equivalent) qualification with 5–10+ years’ post-qualification experience.
  • Proven experience leading finance teams (5+ years).
  • Strong technical knowledge of financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis.
  • Experience in governance, strategy, or leadership roles.
  • Advanced proficiency in MYOB Advanced, Xero, and Cin7 (or similar ERP/BI systems).
  • Experience in banking, and system integrations.
  • Experience in FX trading (advantageous)
  • A clear ambition to progress toward a CFO position within a growing group.
